Fallout...what do first think about when you read this title? Ellen Hopkins happens to be one of the top author's in the 21-century. She writes her stories using much axaggeration, and input. I became of her fans after reading her book "Crank". Fallout is apart o her series, it is the 6th book that she has published, and they all are based on true events in her life. Do the characters seem real? the characters are very much real. the only thing that Ellen changes is the names so that she can protect their identities. The thought of just reading something going on in somebody else's life, makes her books so much more that what they are. The events are not about her, they take place in the lives of her daughter's, grandchildren, etc., she puts their story into her own words of how she would tell their stories. Can you relate to the predicaments? I would have to say no. I have never went through the things portrayed in the book. But as far as the family issues, yes, i can. The drama that is enclosed inside the book, is very much surprising becuase of the fact that something is always happening, which makes the novel even more exciting!There are no "boring parts" inside of the book[s].To what extent do they remind you of yourself or someone you know? The situations remind me more of what we may see on television. Maybe on Maury or Dr. Phil. I don't think that I have met someone that has gone through so much of the circumstances that were illustrated. What was unique about hte setting of the book and how did it enhance or take away from the story? I absolutely love the way that Ellen Hopkins illustrated the stories in the book. She breaks it down into 3 parts.Each with it's own character. In each division of the story, it has a different person telling their story, and at the end of the book, it all comes together slowly into one big story. To me, this is why Ellen is such a good writer because she knows what readers want to read and she writes her books with great input.
